This VISIBLE SPECTROPHOTOMETER(MINI SPEC) is a NUV-VIS NIR SPECTROPHOTOMETER
with Czerny Turner monochromator, two cell sample holder ergonomically
engineered into an instrument of convenient size and contemporary
style. This instrument is incorporated with simple push/pull selection
of sample holder, circular filter disk and push button selection of
output to facilitate quicker calibration and measurement turn-out.
Light from
a tungsten halogen lamp is focussed on to the entrance slit of a monochromator.
The incident beam of light gets tuned to the desired wavelength by
manual slewing of a diffraction grating & reflecting optics in
Czerny Turner mount and emerges as a monochromatic light from the
exit slit of the monochromator. Transmitted portion of this monochromatic
light through the medium (Blank, Standard or Sample) is detected by
a silicon photodiode. The detected output is processed and the Percentage
Transmittance / Absorbance / Concentration of
this medium is displayed on the readout of the instrument, as selected.
