Confidence Levels
The statistical methods presented in this appendix are highly
dependent upon the selection of desired confidence level. The confidence
level choosen for a given cleanroom parameter represents the statistical
confidence of meeting the desired level for that parameter. More simply,
but less precisely the confidence level represents the desired probability
of the parameter meeting the described levels.
General guidelines are
1. As a minimum, a 90% confidence level can be used for areas deemed
noncritical
2. For more critical areas, a confidence level of 95% should be used
3. For extremely sensitive or critical areas, a confidence level of
99% should be used
